USA Judo Senior Nationals Ontario, CA May 24-25, 2024

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Brynn and Haley competed at eh USA Judo Senior Nationals in Ontario, California. Coach Rob went along to support them. They were competing in the kata (forms) portion of the competition. Of the five kata being contested, they competed in three: Nage no Kata (Forms of Throwing), Ju no Kata (Forms of Gentleness), and Kodokan Goshin Jutsu (Kodokan Forms of Self Defense).

Haley and Brynn were competing in the Under 23 (U23) division for each kata. They ended up winning gold in all three kata, making them national champs for two years in a row for Nage no Kata and Ju no Kata, and national champions for the first time in Kodokan Goshin Jutsu. Additionally, because they competed in three or more kata, they also won the All-Around Championship award, which officially makes them the number one ranked U23 team in the United States.
